Tn. NWR
Big Sandy Unit
Benton and Henry Counties

Our field trip to Big Sandy started cold and clear. We
mostly scanned open water, finding seventeen species of
waterfowl. The favorites were Common Goldeneye, Red-br.
Merganser, at least five hundred Canvasbacks and, thanks
to Jeff Wilson, two white phase Ross's Geese.

At dusk we watched thirty three Bald Eagles coming to
roost. A stunning sunset and a Eastern Screech Owl serenade
drew the curtains on our day.

Talk and walk softly, carry a big
scope.
