Kudos to Jay for starting this important ball rolling! IMHO, there would be no problem placing this CBC (in future years, since it can't be official this year) on a Sunday or weekday. There are a number of premier spots in Maryland, Delaware, New York, and coastal Virginia that occur on days other than Saturdays. While a count that features fewer species might have a hard time attracting enough volunteer counters on anything but a Saturday, a prime spot like Pace Point would likely not face that issue. The coastal spots in Maryland and Virginia have many people, some of whom travel a great distance from other states to participate. Once the word gets out that Pace Point is as good as it's likely to be, you'll have birders "flocking" to that CBC, church and jobs notwithstanding. Thanks a lot! charlie ===== ************************************************** Charlie Muise, Senior Naturalist Now living in Maryville, TN Still working in Great Smoky Mountains National Park "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm" Ralph Waldo Emerson __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
