Dec. 9, 2002 Shelby Farms Shelby Co. TN The dark morph Red-tailed Hawk has a friend that appears to be a dark/rufous intergrade. I was able to photograph it and an adult Cooper's during a brief visit. There were a few Ring-billed Gulls at the big lake and a collection of Coots, Pied-billed Grebe, Mallards, 1 Black Duck, Green-winged Teal, Hooded Merganser, 1 Canvasback, Shoveler, Ring-neck, Greater and Lesser Scaup, Ruddy, Gadwall, 1 Bufflehead, Canada Geese and 1 Ross's Goose plus a surprise pair of female Goldeneye, all scattered about the ponds and lakes.
