A trip to the sod farm on Saturday with Chattanooga TOS was disappointing as the area was too dry to attract shorebirds. After last night's heavy rain I decided to try again and was rewarded by two Willets feeding in one of the areas where sod had been stripped. They flushed while I was watching them, and I was unable to locate them again. Other shorebirds included Lesser Yellowlegs, Solitary, Spotted, Pectoral and Killdeer. There were also 11 Bank Swallows with the many Barn and Cliff Swallows. Susan McWhirter Rock Island Warren Co.
