Hello all
This morning I checked out all the area ponds to see what was happening in
world of birds . To start off on Bells Lane there was a large movement of Tree
Swallows with a conservative est. of 1500 + birds flying low over one of the
ponds & landing on the fence rows & any high weed in the fields . After this I
went about a mile north & found another flock of Tree Swallows with about 1000
+ birds . In this flock I found about a dozen N R -W Swallows . After this I
went to the Stuarts Draft Treatment Plant ( it was closed ) but I find about
another 1500 + Tree Swallows . They were every where flying near ground level
to just dots in the sky . In this flock I was able to pick out a couple of N R
- W Swallows .Plus a Yellow - Rumped Warbler & a couple of Palm Warblers . So
my total of Tree Swalows for the day is 4000 + . I wonder if the Hawk Watch
recorded any Swallow fly bys today . Other birds of interest were as Follows .
