I got a nice surprise today (December 22). Not just one but two
Brown-headed Nuthatches were in my yard. One came to the feeders briefly
then flew to the black gum tree where it was joined by another. They
scooted around the trunk and branches for about 5 minutes. I had not seen
any BR Nuts since October 18. It's nice to know they are still hanging
around somewhere. To top it off, this was my count day for Project Feeder
Watch.
