Howdy all,
There have been a few (5-6) Buff-breasted and 5 Upland Sandpipers on the
shore the last few days.
The Buffies have been seen mainly on Pond Drain Road which is off Arlington
Road a few miles north of Kiptopeke State Park (KSP). They have also been seen
on Capeville Rd. which is just south of Stingrays restaurant or north of KSP a
few miles. They were located west of highway 13. It is believed to be the
same flock at this using both fields. Also, last week, a few Uplands were on
Capeville Rd as well.
The current Uplands have been using a freshly hayed field on Route 600 north
of the Eastern Shore of Virginia NWR about 2-3 miles. This field is located
just past the big "S" curve in the road but before the house on the right--if
you are heading north. It's a GREAT looking Uplands field! Might be a magnet
for
some time.
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
