I spent about an hour at Leesylvania SP early this morning before driving up to
Pennsylvania to see my mom. I birded along the Powell’s Creek trail hoping for
gray-cheeked thrush. Dipped on gray-cheek, but was pleasantly surprised by the
cerulean. It was singing near the trailhead. Also along the trail were
ovenbird, worm-eating warbler, redstart, black-throated blue warbler ,
black-throated green warbler, northern parula, blackpoll warbler, Swainson’s
thrush, acadian flycatcher, scarlet tanager, and Baltimore oriole.
