I located a flock of Rusty Blackbirds(23) this afternoon off the Cross County
Trail which is located across the road
from The Colvin Run Mill site. Park at the FCWA sewer pumping station and
follow the old Rt 7 roadbed which is now
a leg of the Cross County Trail. Also had a pair of Wood Ducks in the same
recently thawed pools down in the floodplain.
on both sides of the trail. I have had Rusty Blackbirds at this time of year
off and on for over 25 years.
Then headed over to Lake Fairfax and heard then saw a Pine Warbler trilling.
Juncos were also heard trilling nearby.
Pine Warbler was near the Campground entrance road , past the skatepark.
