It was my first time to anywhere near Crewes Channel- Following directions from
a friend I found the marsh on Willis Church Rd. about 1/4 mile north of Rt. 5
in Henrico Co. I could i.d. the four American Avocets from the road without
even getting out of the car, but I parked just past the marsh and went back.
They were pretty far for photos- but we will see.
Also there were Solitary Sandpiper, Killdeer, Pectoral Sandpiper, Greater and
Lesser Yellowlegs and a Belted Kingfisher and I heard a Barred Owl. There were
a lot of waders out of bin range (I did not have a scope with me).
Will see how the photos turn out and post later.
