I had some time to kill this morning, so I took my coffee to Crewes
Channel and sat for about 90 minutes. As I drove up, an immature bald
eagle was sitting on the tree in the middle and stayed there for about
15 minutes before moving to the back of the area. Did not appear to be
banded from what I could tell.
In scanning the channel, I came across 4 American Avocets in the back.
This is the first time I have seen them in there.
Other sights:
Great Blue heron - 2
Great Egret - 1
Killdeer
Sandpipers
Mallards - 38
Gargantuan Snapping turtle - 2
Deer - 5
Lots of shorebirds, but far away
Despite the heavy clouds and low light, I did take a couple pics, at
least enough to ID the Avocets.
