I agree with Stephen about the red-breasted nuthatches, in fact this is the
second year I haven't had any. I miss the little guys. Saw a Great Blue Heron
yesterday in Danville in the Dan River, I thought they migrated from this area
in winter, and an American Kestrel in Pittsylvania County on route 703. Thus
far, today I have seen titmice, nuthatches, chickadees, and goldfinches and two
flickers. Heard two Barred Owls talking this morning before heading out for
work at around 7:00 am.
