I swung by Crewes Channel in Henrico on the way to work yesterday
morning. The fall colors are gorgeous there now. There was one lone
Cormorant and several hundred Canada geese in the back.
After work, I went by Dutch Gap. I sat at the first platform for over
an hour as the sun went down. There were many Canada's there, about 2
dozen Mallrds, a dozen American Coots, one Pied-Billed Grebe (I loved
this little guy). Saw quite a few more Canada's flying by, along with
some Cormorants. One adult Bald eagle flying in the distance. Also a
large flock of Red Wing Black Birds.
When I left the park, I drove down to the boat ramp and was surprised to
see several hundred Cormorants in the trees across the river from the
ramp....they were everywhere.
It was a gorgeous day, with an awesome sunrise and sunset.
