Hello all
This past Friday 4 members of the Augusta Bird Club along with the C'ville
group ( we bumped into each other while birding over the weekend& we birded
together ) & thanks for inviting our to your days end dinner on Friday
night . Any way our group ended the weekend with 112 species of birds .
By the way WHERE are the SNOW GEESE ? Our group had a high of 35 ! Also the
ducks were down from last year & after looking for the E. Wigeon on several
angles of Snow Goose pool , it was no where to be found . My high light was
watching a No. Harrier pair interacting& about 250 to 300+ White Ibis .
What a sight .Over at Tom's Cove while setting up for a sea watch we got to
see the end of a wedding on the beach . Here for from 14:50 to 15 20 we had
about 60 + Red - throated loons fly by with about 200 to 250 + Surf Scoters
, & about 30 No. Gannets . I counted 31 Red - throated Loons in one group .
We had both Clapper & Va. Rails at Saxis last night . Saturday over at the
trail near the Schools we had Brown Trasher , Brown Creeper , Winter Wren ,
Fox Sparrow & Hermit Thrush . Willis Warf on Friday had at least 50 to 75
Marbled Godwits , about the same amount of Willets . any way it was a
peaceful weekend & all enjoyed what we saw .
