Today I visited the Hunter-Hacor tract (aka Elklick Woodlands) in far
western Fairfax County around 3 PM. This is a great place to bird.
Not always a large number of species but always a couple of goodies,
and very quiet and peaceful. One of the few places in Fairfax County
where you can walk with very little or no traffic noise.
The highlights were 7 Turkeys and 1 Prairie Warbler. The full list
below is about what I expected for a brisk walk on a mid-afternoon in
late fall.
