I stopped by Lake Frederick around lunchtime today and found a nice group
of birds on the water.
Before I arrived at the lake itself, I saw a LESSER SCAUP on the farm pond
opposite the entrance on Rt. 522.
On the lake there were: a breeding plumage COMMON LOON, a NORTHERN SHOVELER
pair, 6 RING-NECKED DUCKS, a PIED-BILLED GREBE, and a DOUBLE-CRESTED
CORMORANT. And a few CANADA GEESE of course.
