The Northern Virginia Bird Club visited Occoquan Bay NWR in Woodbridge this
morning. A nice crisp morning the way fall should be. We racked up a decent
list of 63 species. Lots of robin and blackbird flock early on, numerous
sparrows and yellow-rumped warblers, and growing numbers of ducks and gulls.
Highlights were rusty blackbirds around the marsh, turkeys crossing Deephole
Pt. Road, both kinglets, catbird, chipping and savannah sparrows, winter wren,
great egret, and Bonaparte's gull. The complete list is below.
