This morning, Lisa Shannon, Paul Pisano, and I were at Ben Brenman Park off
Duke Street in the City of Alexandria. The best bird by far was a GRASSHOPPER
SPARROW that we saw to the west of the western bridge over Backlick Run (the
bridge at Somervelle Street). Killer views were enjoyed by all. Other
sparrows there were at least two Swamps, two Fields, and a lingering Dark-eyed
Junco. A Yellow Warbler and a Red-shouldered Hawk were also good, as were the
Orchard and Baltimore Orioles.
