None today. No one but us out of the car.
Weather:
WNW & NW winds diminishing from 3 added to a chilly day with temperatures
from -1 to 6C. Few clouds and good visibility laterally, but up was a
problem.
Raptor Observations:
RT's were easy early coming down the 'alley', but later moved out and
scanning was difficult until help arrived. 68 RT's came between 10 and 2.
Katie and I decided to leave at 4 and just before then, we discovered we
had about 99 birds. At 3:55, two adult Bald Eagles circled for more than
five minutes overhead, interacting and flapping most of the time. I tried
to take photos, and may have some, but I hit the record button accidentally
and may have some film. Check website in a couple of days, if you like.
Non-raptor Observations:
At one point, there were 14 ravens in the air and, at another, at least 50
crows. Juncos abounded on the way up and at the overlook.
Predictions:
Winds look less good, but they are moving and a Red Tail can fly in
anything.
