Visitors:
Dale Miller from Concord was of immense help today. He will be back. Rich
Schroder from Colorado stopped by with his Virginia friends Richard and
Diane Donnelly. It was good to have Laura Beltran and dog Nimbus from Blue
Ridge with us once again. We appreciate our visitors and hope they all will
return.
Weather:
Winds from the South East all day from calm in the morning to a stiff 3 by
end of watch. Temperatures ranged from 17.5c to 24.5 with 100% high cloud
cover and haze in the valleys. Barometric pressure droped all day from a
high of 27.25 to a low of 27.13 indicating the chance of rain tomorrow.
Raptor Observations:
Immature Bald Eagle at 12:20 p.m. and a second immature at 3:25 p.m.
Non-raptor Observations:
Ravens, TVs and a few Blacks were noticeably active after noon. Knats were
scandalous; they should be outlawed. Lots of leaf peepers today but really
not many leaves left at upper elevations. Still good color atlower
elevations.
Predictions:
70% chance of light rain tonight with a low of 61F. Tomorrow 70% chance of
rain/thunder with a low of 63.
