Total observation time: 7 hours
Official Counter: Kyle Wright
Observers:
Weather:
Clear skies with temperatures between 10.3c and 12.7c. Somewhat variable
winds, but mostly with a north-ish bent.
Raptor Observations:
More Buteos than Accipiters and Falcons... finally some semblance to a
November hawk flight!
Non-raptor Observations:
Three Monarch Flutter-bys. Fourteen Loons of unidentified species (sorry,
not working that hard today), thirty one Tundra Swans. At least four Rusty
Blackbirds amidst thousands of other icterids. Also, a single (late?)
Yellow Palm Warbler.
Predictions:
Light southwest winds predicted. May make for a bit of a flight up the
burm, but mostly not a day I'm looking towards with overly high hopes, but
weather forecasts and my predictions are known to have been wrong on one or
two occasions, and I assume the birds all know they have to migrate by the
site before November thirtieth if they want to be counted, right?
