I once saw a young eagle crossing above a march endure 5 screaming crows
which were also taking dives at the eagle's back. I was on an observation
tower above the marsh.
One crow actually plucked a feather out of the eagle's back. The next close
pass above the eagle saw a swift roll-over and the crow grabbed with a quick
squeeze of the talons. The eagle rolled upright, dropped the crow, and the
rest of the crows flew in all directions but in front of the eagle. The dead
crow fell into marsh grass.
