I had a few minutes to kill on Tuesday afternoon and stopped by Harrison
Lake on the way home. I only walked around the fish ponds and did not
make it to the lake.
There were 30-40 Canadas, lots of grown up babies...they grow so fast.
Red Wing Blackbirds were very protective of their areas and would swoop
and holler as I walked through.
The highlight for me was a pair of Green Herons, one of which let me get
fairly close to get good looks and pictures.
Red Wing Blackbirds - 40+
Canada geese - 40+
Wood Duck - pair
Mallard - 1
Green Herons - 2
Swallows - lots
Eastern Bluebirds - 8
Great Blue Herons - 2
If you go, the birds were all primarily located in the middle pond
around the concrete enclosures on the back side. The Greenies and RWBB
nests were all in that area.
