Lots of waterfowl have been at Harrison Rd and Belvoir ponds in The Plains
the last two days. These include a RED-NECKED GREBE seen yesterday and
today at Belvoir Pond, as well as Pied-billed Grebe, Canada Goose, Tundra
Swan (yesterday), Mallard, American Wigeon, Northern Pintail, Gadwall,
Green-winged Teal, Northern Shoveler, Bufflehead, Lesser Scaup, Ring-necked
Duck, Redhead, Canvasback, Hooded Merganser, and possibly more I am not
thinking of. ABC colleagues found some Cackling Geese yesterday among the
Canadas, and Ruddy Duck. Large numbers of Grackles and Red-winged
Blackbirds are moving through. Horned Larks were in the field along the
road at Wakefield School yesterday.
