Around 5:30 PM, someone in our group of four suggested Patagonia Picnic table
effect when Lisa Perry spotted a WW Scoter at the same RMH (Hospital) storm
water pond already graced by one each of three geese: Ross's, Cackling, and
Snow. Between us (Lisa, William Leigh, Dave Wendelken and I), we managed
ID-worthy photos of all. Also around the pond were Canada Geese and Mallards
(both handy for comparing size of the less commoners) and seven RN Ducks. And
one muskrat, dining happily. Plus a nice "flock" of deer (as one "bird-brain"
named them!)
Wow. Great birds, bird-"worshipers", and weather made for a most pleasant
weekend beginning. Sorry to report, though, that the Snow & Ross's flew off
shortly before we left around 7PM. Still, the site, along with other area
lakes, may well be worth keeping an eye on.
