Tina Trice and I took the drive to Dayton after work today and we saw the
HARRIS'S SPARROW as soon as we got there at 4:45. It was hanging along the
fence at the perimeter of the yard before disappearing into a nearby bush.
About 40 minutes later we had outstanding looks at the bird as it moved in
closer to where we were located. It was a pleasure to meet Kevin Shank and his
family and many thanks to Larry Carpenter for letting us hang out in his
backyard to see this stunning sparrow. The WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, PINE
SISKINS and other backyard birds were enjoyed as well. Good birding.
