Tina Trice and I spent some time at the Henricus marsh and also did the loop
trail at Dutch Gap in Chesterfield County today. A beautiful day highlighted
by a nestling GREAT BLUE HERON poking it's head out from the nest that's in the
back of the marsh. Also enjoyed were 2 CASPIAN TERNS, singing COMMON
YELLOWTHROATS, TREE SWALLOWS buzzing around the marsh, eye level
YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS singing vociferously, our first PALM WARBLER of the
spring, a "western" palm, singing BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS and, of course, the
nesting OSPREYS. The complete list from e-bird is below.
