The stars at this morning's Huntley Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk were
raptors. We spotted a couple of Osprey, a Bald Eagle, both a Coopers and a
Sharpie, and a Red Tailed. There were 21 of us today, and our total sightings
today numbered 46. In addition to the raptors, we spotted an American Bittern
lurking on the southwest edge of the central wetland, (but no Rails or Soras),
Eastern Phoebes, a Winter Wren at the beginning of the boardwalk, and Northen
Rough-winged and Tree Swallows. The ducks remained prolific but with some
species not in evidence today.
