While it was pretty cold this morning, there were several strong signs of
spring on this today's Huntley Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk. 15 Birders
spotted 57 species with several notable sightings. A Horned Grebe was seen
with a Pied-billed Grebe, The FOS Barn Swallow showed up, and a lone Ruddy Duck
joined the other waterfowl. Only a couple of Yellow-rumps were the Warbler
contribution so far, and we still could only come up with 6 of the 7 Woodpecker
species found here in winter. The expected large flocks of Common Grackles and
Red-winged Blackbirds foraged through the woods.
