Once again, a very large group of birders showed up for today's Huntley
Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk. We spotted 52 species with a few
First-of-Season for this walk reports and other highlights. The FOS birds were
Blue-grey Gnatcatcher, Chimney Swift, and Blue-headed Vireo. We watched a pair
of Osprey skillfully pull 3 or 4 fish out of the central wetlands pond and take
them to waiting chicks we presume. We also spotted a huge group of Red-winged
Blackbirds with many Rusty Blackbirds included.
