It was a cold, overcast morning at Huntley Meadows for the November 19, Monday
Morning Bird Walk. Nevertheless, fourteen birders had an enjoyable few hours in
the park where the brilliant Fall colors are hanging on even in this
Thanksgiving week. The wetlands were fully wet thanks both to recent rain and
the work of the resident beavers whose recent work was quite evident.
Thirty-six species were seen, including a large group of Green-winged Teal, one
of the largest collection of Ring-billed Gulls seen in Huntley in a while, two
Red-breasted Nuthatch, and five woodpeckers.
The totals:
Canada Goose 183

Mallard 75
Northern Pintail 2
