This morning's Huntley Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk attracted 12 birders who
spotted 46 species. The weather was warm, bright and calm. There were some
spectacular highlights including a Turkey seen in the woods along the trail
leading from the Visitor Center to the Boardwalk near marker number 3.
Additionally, the group spotted 5 Little Blue Herons in the pond area beyond
the Boardwalk along the unofficial trail, and a Yellow Breasted Chat in the
marsh near the beginning of the Boardwalk. All in all, a pretty good day.
