Observers:        Joe Beatty, Ned Brinkley

Weather:
Moderate winds were from the west northwest this morning, becoming westerly
in the afternoon. It was mostly cloudy in the morning and mostly sunny in
the afternoon. Temperatures were nice and cool, in the sixties to mid
seventies.

Raptor Observations:
It was still pretty slow, but Osprey movement picked up nicely in the
afternoon. Most birds were high and off to the east.

Non-raptor Observations:
Ned Brinkley found a Western Tanager among the pokeweed just south of the
platform, amidst a group of Summer Tanagers and several other species. He
found the bird at about 7:30 am EST, but it flew off and was not seen again
after he searched for it later that morning. Ned also found a Least
Flycatcher and an Acadian Flycatcher in the forest/edge south of the
platform. Interesting sightings from the platform included 22 Glossy
Ibises, two Blue-winged Teal, and one Veery.
