This morning I birded around the Concord area in Campbell County. It was
rather quiet until between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on SR 737. Near a stream
bed with Sycamore trees I found a bright yellow throated warbler. I was
very surprised to see it but the extreme date for our area is Oct. 4. At
the same place, I also had up close looks at a white eyed vireo who was
feeding and calling at the same time. There were several red eyed vireo in
the general area but not singing. I saw two immature indigo buntings, a
green scarlet tanager, a female common yellowthroat and several cat birds at
the same location. At 9 a.m. everything disappeared and nothing else was
seen anywhere I went except two kestrels hunting in a field on the way home.
