This morning I spotted a Red-necked Grebe in the James River across from
Lake Maury. The grebe was located directly out from where the lake empties
into the James. Also a Pied-billed Grebe was seen in Kettle Pond. Both
Kinglets were found along the Noland Trail, along with a Blue-headed Vireo.
And a large raft of Double-crested Cormorants (74) were on Lake Maury
