Weather:
Light E breezes with 15.5-23.2C temps. The morning had low, grey, foggy
clouds that hung over our heads in which raptors would play hide-and-seek.
Overall the day was mostly cloudy and became overcast between 10am-noon.
Winds died down by 2pm. Visibility increased from 10km early to 20km by
noon.
Raptor Observations:
Two Bald Eagles: 10:13 2nd-YR and 11:13 Adult. A couple of decent
Broad-wing kettles down under the low clouds gave terrific, close looks!
Non-raptor Observations:
A hot air balloon to the east early. Lots of other migrating birds
especially in the morning crossing the gap including 2 more Red-breasted
Nuthatch and 5 Wood Duck, 2 Yellow-billed Cuckoo, 68 Chimney Swift, 1
hummingbird, 1 DC Cormorant, 4 Red-headed Woodpecker, 22 Reb-bellied
Woodpecker, 115 Northern Flicker, 243 Blue Jay, 5 Raven, 64 Tree Swallow, 2
Rusty Blackbird, 3 Redstart, 1 Cape May Warbler, 3 Magnolia Warbler, 1
Black-throated Blue Warbler, 3 Scarlet Tanager, 7 Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
