Hi all!
I just now have access to internet and so most of my sightings are a couple
of days old. My family went to Ft. Story beach, just a couple of miles from
VA beach. The first day, Tuesday the 19th, I saw and photographed a
Black-bellied Plover and a Short-billed/Long-billed Dowitcher, both
nonbreeding. I went again on Thursday to see if they were still there, but
they were not. On that day, I photographed my lifer Sandwich Tern,
identified by the yellow tip on the bill. I also had about 75-100 Brown
Pelicans, a couple of Cormorants and several Royal Terns.
Wednesday June 20
I spotted a Yellow-crowned Night Heron flying on the way back to our cabin
- I'm not entirely sure what road we were on at the time.
Thursday June 21,
I spotted a couple of Common/Forster's Terns flying around. I'm not sure of
the identification yet, but I'll work on that.
