went to Shenandoah NP two weeks ago and found it very quiet. We saw a few
Blue-headed Vireos and Towhees but not much more. Today was very different.
Redstarts were everywhere although all but one were male. The one female we
saw was already building a nest. Other highlights today were Ovenbirds,
Chestnut-sided, Hooded, and Black-and-white warblers, Scarlet Tanagers,
Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Veery, Indigo Buntings and Blue-headed Vireos.
