i went up to Thompson WMA this morning with a friend and we had a super
day. Good and extended looks at Hooded, Kentucky, Cerulean, Worm-eating,
and Redstart warblers. Also Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Scarlet Tanagers, lots
of Oven birds, and the other likely suspects. The Trillium and other
flowers were superb. Drove down Leeds Manor Rd. (Rt. 688) and found a
couple of fields just off of Rt. 17 that were full of male Bobolinks. Saw
lots of flying around and fence sitting affording great views. Finished up
at Sky Meadows for Red-headed woodpeckers and whatever else was there.
A really great day in the country
