There is a group of about 4 bar-headed geese that travel, usually together,
back and forth between the Reston Zoo and Lake Fairfax. I think off and on for
about the last 5 years of so, maybe more. Beautiful birds - even though I know
they are from the zoo I get excited each time I see them and always stop to
watch them. Easily one of the most striking goose species, and still worth a
trip to Lake Fairfax to see, you just can't add them to your life-list :)

Interestingly enough there is a history of exotic birds who are escapees
showing up at Lake Fairfax. As Larry will confirm it's a rare year when one
or more don't show up there & cause a stir.
