A Harris Sparrow was observed at the residence of Larry Carpenter in
Rockingham County. The owner is quite happy to share this bird with folks who
are interested. It was first observed by Larry Carpenter and reported by Rod
Botkin to Shenval list. several days ago.

Directions: Take I-81 to town of Bridgewater exit the Mount
Crawford/Bridgewater (240?) Head south on 11 and take first left Oakwood drive
704. At intersection of 704 and route 42 turn North or right onto rt 42. Go
about 2 miles and turn left onto 257 in Dayton and head West towards the
mountains. Go about 3 miles and turn right onto West Dry River road (after
crossing North River) and go .9 of mile. 5946 is on the left or West side of
the road and is a white rancher. The bird was hanging around with others of its
ilk along a fence with Forsythia bushes. There are lots of very well supplied
feeders in the yard.
Also seen were several Siskins.
