I spent the morning in the James River Park system as well. I can add to
Arun's list at 42nd Street the following: 2 LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH (in
the railroad cut just near the point where the fence fails to cross the
large boulder, upstream from the stairs), and 1 BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER.
I moved over to the Wetlands section about 10:15. Present there were 1
BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER, 1 PINE WARBLER, 1 PALM WARBLER (Eastern
variety), 1 COMMON YELLOTHROAT, 1 PROTHONOTARY WARBLER, 6 YELLOW-RUMPED
WARBLER, 3 YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER, 2 BLUE-HEADED VIREO, 1 RED-EYED
VIREO, and 2 WHITE-EYED VIREO.
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers were easily found in both areas, and one active
nest was found at the Wetlands.
Good birding,
Lewis
