While I certainly applaud the Coaris' willingness to get involved in
this crime - I would imagine it is just that - a crime - and we could
drop the "wildlife" from this incident even tho that poor Mallard
wound up on the receiving end.
I think the local police force would take a keen interest in anyone
discharging a weapon in a public place and would respond appropriately
to a 911 call. Hopefully, hauling his young hiney home in a squad car,
confiscation of the weapon and a citation would help educate all
ignorant parties involved. I would also be nervous about approaching
and having my eye shot out w. a BB gun if the kid had a few loose
screws...
Anyway... just saying.
