I joined Susan Hubbard and others for the bird walk at Weyanoke this morning.
Just wanted to let folks know that there are quite a few nice birds seen there
this morning. We had a male Blackburnian Warbler, a pair of Canada Warblers,
and a female Wilson's Warbler (high in a tree, but Andrew Baldelli was
confident in the ID). All three are regional birds for me and the Wilson's is a
state bird. Blackpoll Warblers seem to be everywhere. I had to leave early to
head to work (but just found out that I don't have to go to work today). Hope
the group continued to see more species.
Cape Henry Audubon is going to Craney Island tomorrow morning. I won't be able
to make the trip, but check out this website for information (
http://www.chasnorfolk.org/fieldtrips.html).
It is a wonderful day to be outside.
