WILLOW FLYCATCHERS have finally returned to the location on my neighbor's
property where they have nested for years. The can be easily heard calling &
sometimes seen in the willows that border the stream that runs through Grace
Hill Farm on the east side of Ebenezer Church Rd near Bluemont in western
Loudoun Co. While this seems late to me it conforms with my records from
previous years.
Accompanying them this morning were YELLOW WARBLERS, COMMON YELLOWTHROATS, a
WARBLING VIREO, RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS and BOBOLINKS across the road on Legacy
Farm, and 2 female ORCHARD ORIOLES quarreling over a male (one had already
started to build a nest).
