This morning I was near Richmond, so I stopped by Zoar State Forest. I
spent most of the time around the main entrance, as I was immediately greeted
by a flock of Cedar Waxwings. Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, Red-bellied
Woodpeckers, Northern Flickers and Downy Woodpeckers were also around the
forest entrance. White-throated Sparrows were abundant. As I was short on
time, I quickly walked the trail with the highlight being 5 Hermit Thrush.
This location always offers a good variety of bird species.
