Hi all,
I'm seeing bald birds once again-earlier than last year. I have records of
them in late July last year. I have at least one male and one female
cardinal who are bald. Last year there were a couple of bald blue jays as
well.
I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this now? Experts don't seem to know
for sure why it happens--they used to say it was caused by mites, but now
some do not think that's the case--rather they think it's part of the
molting process. But I don't remember seeing it much before last year, how
about you?
