Me and my Mom were on our way to eat Christmas dinner at my brothers house
on Christmas day when as I was about to exit from interstate 64 onto Gaskins
Rd. north I noticed something in the middle of the exit lane. As I approached
this object moved and it was obviously a bird standing beside some kind of
dead animal. As we moved by, the bird was a raptor a little larger than a
pigeon, and was very dark around its shoulders and back like almost black. The
bird made no attempt to fly and I wished I had stopped and scared him off as
surely he would be killed by a vehicle. The location where we saw the raptor
was
on west bound 64 maybe a hundred feet west of the Gaskins Rd overpass in the
exit lane.
