Confirming BJ Norris' earlier report, there were two black-necked stilts at
Dameron Marsh NAP (lower Northern Neck) this afternoon at around 2 PM, a
couple hundred yards east of the observation platform in the main marsh.
Since BJ's report was from the field near the entrance the birds are
obviously moving around a bit. We were showing some folks around and not
really birding but we were able to note a number of willets, Forster's
terns, osprey, boat-tailed grackles, a bald eagle, a northern harrier and a
great egret in and over the marsh and quite a few yellowlegs, dowitcher sp.,
dunlin, black-bellied plover and three glossy ibis near the preserve
entrance.
