Hi Noreen,
Try Resetting your iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time . When voice over announces to double tap to turn off
your phone then release only the sleep/wake button and keep holding down the
home button till you are returned to the icons on your IPhone screen.
If that doesn't help, restart your iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
until voice over tells you to double tap to turn off the phone . To turn iPhone
back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for about 6 to 8 seconds or
thereabouts until the Apple logo appears. Naturally for people like ourselves
then we may need to get sighted help to confirm the apple logo is up on screen
so we can then release the sleep/wake button.
Paul.
